Haley Alsaffar

Licensed Professional Counselor & Clinical Supervisor

It’s natural to want to get to know your therapist a bit as you’re deciding whether or not the fit will be a good one.

It has been shown time and again the relationship between client and counselor is the most important part of a therapy experience. It is always on my mind to ensure that our relationship remains entirely focused on you, but as a part of the collaborative duo that will become client and therapist, I’m happy to share a bit about myself.

I’m originally from Virginia; I moved to Memphis in 2008. (I miss east coast seafood!) I am married and we have a daughter who keeps us on our toes as well as a fur baby (Goose, our dog.) I enjoy reading, being outside, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and tending to my garden. Relationally, I have been described as down-to-earth, authentic,
and sincere and I enjoy a bit of humorous banter in the therapy space as the situation calls for it. I believe that as humans, we are all looking for healthy connection with others and when our connections are unhealthy, we are often unhealthy.

As for what to expect from me therapeutically,
I lead with my humanity.

“For there is always light. If only we're brave enough to see it.
If only we're brave enough to be it.”

— Amanda Gorman
